Hero Zhong Changjun achieved remarkable military accomplishments in the Vietnam War, receiving first-class merit and third-class merit once each. In February 1979, during a critical moment when his entire platoon lost its commander in combat against Vietnam, Zhong Changjun stepped forward to take command, personally killing 8 enemies and destroying an enemy company command post. However, he also sustained injuries that were classified as level 6 battle wounds. In September 2019, Zhong Changjun was awarded the '70th Anniversary Commemorative Medal for the Founding of the People's Republic of China' by the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, State Council, and Central Military Commission.

In recent years, Zhong Changjun has given over 430 reports to more than 370,000 people and has been received by leaders such as then Vice President Wang Zhen and Jiangxi Provincial Party Secretary Jiang Weiqing and Bai Dongcai. His deeds have been reported multiple times on national news broadcasts as well as in publications like 'PLA Daily', 'Frontline News', 'Jiangxi Daily', and 'Gandong Daily'.

During his speech, Zhong Changjun used simple language to recount his heroic deeds in bloody battles during the Vietnam War to party members and employees of Zhongyang Group. When attendees heard about how Zhong Changjun bit his finger to write a letter requesting to go to the front lines with his own blood, they couldn't help but feel their blood boil with excitement. They were deeply moved by the patriotic feelings of this revolutionary predecessor, and applause lasted for a long time.

The martyrs exchanged their lives for peace on Chinese soil; their blood inspired courage and loyalty among descendants of Yan Huang. After the speech concluded, party members and employees from various departments at Zhongyang Construction Group expressed admiration for the heroic deeds of revolutionary predecessors.
