Recently, the Fuzhou Municipal Science and Technology Bureau released the 2023 Fuzhou "Ranking and Leadership" technology demand list. After strict evaluation by relevant departments, 48 items were selected for the 2023 "Ranking and Leadership" technology demand list in the city, with the technology demand of Zhongyang Construction Group for "Research and application of prefabricated building products and intelligent production technology based on bamboo resources" successfully included in the major "Ranking and Leadership" list.

Bamboo is one of the fastest-growing plants in the world; it is a renewable biomass material that is carbon-negative. It has advantages such as being renewable and biodegradable, having a high strength-to-weight ratio, being lightweight yet earthquake-resistant, a low thermal conductivity coefficient, good insulation performance, and providing a comfortable internal temperature and humidity environment. It is one of the green building materials that utilize performance rationally. Fuzhou has abundant bamboo resources; promoting bamboo-based building materials and modern bamboo structure buildings has natural advantages and great potential. With phased achievements in modified bamboo reinforcement and bamboo fiber research already made by the group, we are launching this project to fully explore the potential of bamboo resources to further drive local bamboo industry development, promote green building material development applications, enhance research and application levels of intelligent production technologies."Research and application of prefabricated building products and intelligent production technology based on bamboo resources" project will apply modified bamboo materials to low-rise building structures and municipal components. Once successfully developed, this project is expected to significantly reduce construction costs for low-rise buildings while achieving over a 30% reduction in carbon emissions.
